A LOOK BACK ON CANADIAN PACIFIC'S D&H NORTH END BROKEN KNUCKLE VIDEO PRODUCTIONS 200 minutes narration, live stereo & mono audio

In late 1990, the Canadian Pacific acquired the D&H after several years of uncertainty. However, even the CP's deep pockets weren't an immediate answer to saving the line. Fortunately and eventually, the line has been revived. This program shows the trains on the D&H North End in 1991 at Saratoga Springs & vicinity, and then again in 1994 when we covered the line from just northwest of Albany to Rouses point. Footage is presented chronologically, and you'll witness many "un-retired" MLW's along with D&H lightning stripes and an assortment of Canadian Pacifics EMD/GMD power through the change of seasons. Our visit concludes with a trip on Amtrak's southbound "Adirondack" where we filmed from the rear vestibule on a perfect autumn day.

In the months right after the merger with the Santa Fe, Hal Pantti explored two of Burlington Northern's most important main lines, the ex-Northern Pacific from Eastern Montana into Minnesota, and the ex-Chicago, Burlington & Quincy from Galesburg, Illinois to Lincoln, Nebraska. Both lines became major arteries for the coal from the Powder River Basin into the Burlington Northern era. While the BNSF was in it's infancy, the footage that Hal shot is just about pure BN. In this program you'll see a variety of the power that BN operated and the trains it pulled from a nice selection of locations!

Join BKVP on a one week expedition that takes you to a great variety of unique and interesting operations. The majority of this trip was during some great mid-spring weather, and we covered railroading at some of the "normal" locations, but also explored and found some nice "off the beaten path" spots! In this program, you'll see Class I's, Regional's, Class III's, and Industrial lines. RAILROADING ACROSS THE HEARTLAND -PRAIRIES, PLAINES, BRIDGES & BADLANDS BROKEN KNUCKLE VIDEO PRODUCTIONS almost 3 hours

THIS IS THE GUILFORD RAIL SYSTEM BROKEN KNUCKLE VIDEO PRODUCTIONS

It began in 1982 when Timothy Mellon purchased the Maine Central, the Boston & Maine and the Delaware & Hudson, creating a major Northeast system. Unfortunately, the potential was never realized, when labor/management conflicts led to bankruptcy on the D&H. The Maine Central and B&M continued on as Guilford Transportation Industries, under labor rules of the tiny Springfield Terminal RR. Tight spaces and economics led to a shift of most traffic to Conrail, leaving Guilford tracks west of Ayer Jct almost empty. In 1999, CSX and the Norfolk Southern split up Conrail. With backing from the Norfolk Southern, which wanted to compete for Northeast business, the new Guilford Rail System increased access to Hoosac Tunnel and improved track. Soon traffic returned to the lines west of Ayer. This video focuses on this renewed stretch of track between Ayer Jct. and Rotterdam Jct. You'll see many popular locations, featuring Guilford's unique stable of secondhand motive power."
