In the Anthracite Railroads in the 70’s series, we look at the ailing
operations of the Hard Coal Carriers in the final years before their
inclusion into Conrail. In
Volume 6, we’ll view the last years of freight and commuter operations
of the Central Railroad of New Jersey from Bayonne, NJ to Wilkes-Barre,
PA, including the CNJ race trains, cabs rides on AW-1 from Allentown
into the Wyoming Valley and the wreck at Weissport, PA in the last 2
years of Pennsylvania operations.
