This is a revised and update edition of Chessie, The Railroad Kitten.  Featuring color throughout the book, this is the unusual story of how the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway adopted the image of a sleeping kitten as its advertising symbol in 1933.  Chessie, named for the railway, and her family, two kittens and Peake, became so popular that the C&O and Baltimore & Oho eventually renamed themselves the Chessie System Railroad.  She was one of the nation's most popular corporate symbols in the 1930s and 40s.  This edition features full color reproductions of many of the advertising materials and calendars produced by the company.
