New Book
Stan Trzoniec hardcover

There is no doubt that the storied Delaware & Hudson Railroad has been one of the most popular railfan attractions in the Northeast. Although just about everything has changed and regardless of how many times you visit the Delaware & Hudson, you are always filled with excitement at the thought of maybe finding something original on the right-of-way or the back roads running near this legendary railroad. In short, enthusiasts are forever enamored by its former presence in the Empire State, especially the Southern Tier region and more so on its Albany & Susquehanna Subdivision.

In this new book, railroad photographer Stan Trzoniec covers the Delaware & Hudson from Delanson to Binghamton, NY, stopping at dozens of locations along the way. Within the covers are photos of past and present motive power from the vintage Alco PAs to the more modern prime movers of the Delaware & Hudson, Guilford, Canadian Pacific, and, more recently, Norfolk Southern taken by the author and numerous contributors. Locations are documented to follow the line as are dates showing how this line has fared over the past three decades of photographic coverage. Trzoniec has also included a chapter dedicated to the Colonie Shops, sadly destroyed by fire in 2004, but kept alive by the photographs in this book.
