Follow along as we trace the Soo Line motive power for almost two decades. This book details the Soo's diesel locomotive purchases from the 1950s to 1990. It is well illustrated with Randy's color photography of many of the locomotives from the older F Units, to GP30s, GP38-2s, GP40s and SD40s. There is also a look at the impact of the Soo's purchase of the Milwaukee Road on it's motive power, with many photos showing mixed lashups of Soo and Milwaukee engines, including GP9s, SW1200s, GP40s and SD40s. There are also a few former Minneapolis, Northfield & Southern SD39s in Soo colors. Following the Soo/Milwaukee merger, the line acquired SD60s, which began replacing many of the older engines that had been operated by the line. This is one book you don't want to miss!
