This volume focuses on the railroads operating in Maine in the period 1981-1992 with an emphasis on the smaller companies; Bangor & Aroostook, St. Lawrence & Atlantic and Belfast & Moosehead Lake. (The Maine Coast Railroad was covered in volume 1 along with the Maine Central.) There is limited coverage of Canadian National and Canadian Pacific as well as the Aroostook Valley plus an acknowledgement of Maine’s 2-foot heritage via a visit to the SR&RL Museum.
