This book mostly covers the 1970s merger, but there are long sections at
the end covering what happened to the old NS RWY after 1982. There are
sections on the Chesapeake & Albemarle, the Carolina Coastal, the
Aberdeen, Carolina & Western and some on the new NS. About 170
photos are of Southern Railway equipment and trains across the whole
railroad in 1974-1989; the rest are the shortlines and the new NS.
