From the beginning of streetcar service in 1911 to the demise of service in 1952. this book traces the history lines which served North Hollywood, Van Nuys, Reseda, Canoga Park and San Fernando. Detailed in the book are the movers & shakers who built the lines, the towns which were developed as a result of the streetcars, the events that shaped the lines and the struggles they endured before service was abandoned in 1952. Also included is a history of the motor coach lines operated by the Pacific Electric and its major competitor, Asbury Rapid Transit System.
