and papers, and a "whale of a big six-shooter." Over the next six years,
he worked as a Denver & Rio Grande Railroad "boomer" in several
Colorado towns, becoming friends with both respectable townsfolk and
unsavory lawbreakers.
John wrote letters and numerous reminiscences about his Wild West
Colorado adventures. Railroads, Rifles, and Ruffians is John's story, as
told by his great-grandson. Extracts from John's memoirs-along with his
photographs- tell John's tale with his own words and pictures.
