JOURNEY BACK TO AUGUST 1959 on another of our Speed Graphics adventures with Herb Harwood! This time we’ll explore the final Canadian Pacific steam railway operations in New Brunswick. Locomotives you’ll encounter include Mikados on Saint John Subdivision mainline freights between Bay Shore (Saint John) and McAdam; a D4 class Ten Wheeler on the McAdam–St. George way freight; the last serviceable Jubilee on the St. Andrews way freight outof McAdam; a D10 Ten Wheeler working the daily way freight from Fredericton to Woodstock; the last steam switcher (a Consolidation)switching the coal sidings around Chipman; and (of course!) the Minto Subdivision between Chipman and Norton with its famed American Type 4-4-0s on mixed trains. Lastly, we’ll visit the Maritime Coal, Railway& Power Company, which employs two ancient ex-CNR Moguls!
