This new pictorial will cover W&LE's first decade of operations beginning in 1990.Focus will again cover the P&WV from Pittsburgh Junction, Ohio East to Connellsville.All 111 main track miles are covered as well as the West End, Mifflin and Clairton Branches with a side trip down the former Monessen Southwestern Railway at Monessen the W&LE used to access Canestrale Dock and the former coke works at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. The former steel mill at Wheeling Pittsburgh(monessen) has been completly torn down. Also of interest will be coverage of W&LE trains on CSX between Connellsville and Hagerstown, Maryland when the W&LE exercised trackage rights. Many of those remaining CSX towers...Greene, Sand Patch, Hyndman, Viaduct and Cherry Run will be seen with W&LE trains passing them, many of which no longer exist.This book will cover the NS stack trains, CSX reroutes, lots of foreign power,the former N&W SD-45 slug sets, former Reading 2101 at Rook deadheading to Brewster under steam surrounded by W&LE high hood EMD's.
