This is a history of the O&W's Port Jervis, Monticello & Summitville Railroad. The book begins by looking at the canals that operated in the area, including the D&H Canal. It then follows the development and operations of the Monticello & Port Jervis Railroad, the reorganization into the Port Jervis & Monticello Railway and later the Port Jervis, Monticello & New York Railroad. Also included is a look at operations under the O&W as the Port Jervis, Monticello & Summitville Railroad, many of the stations along the line and the bridges used by the railroad. The book also looks at the railbuses, motor cars and diesels operated by the line and abandonment of the line.
